概要 - Overview -

Scheduled for May 23 (Sat), 2026 | Tokyo, JAPAN
《Hybrid Format: On-Demand Pre-Lectures and Onsite Conference》
Registration is now open!
JATO will host the JATO x APATS Athletic Training Symposium 2026 by Mueller on Saturday, May 23, 2026. This symposium will be an international collaborative event jointly organized by JATO and the Asia-Pacific Athletic Trainers' Society (APATS).
This symposium will convene leading researchers, athletic trainers, and interdisciplinary experts to synthesize the latest evidence-based research and real-world case studies with practical insight.

We are honored to welcome three distinguished Keynote Speakers who have led the professional sports world and the sports medicine community for decades.

• Rick Griffin – Athletic Trainer Emeritus, Seattle Mariners
• Sue Falsone – Senior Advisor, Medical & Performance, Los Angeles Dodgers
• Matt Kutz – Professor, Florida International University / President, WFATT

Rick Griffin of the Seattle Mariners has worked at the forefront of Major League Baseball (MLB) for many years and has been inducted into both the NATA and PBATS Halls of Fame. Sue Falsone of the Los Angeles Dodgers made history as the first female Head Athletic Trainer in MLB and has played a pioneering role in advancing the field of Return to Performance. Matt Kutz of Florida International University has advanced athletic training education through his research and expertise in leadership studies and continues to promote international education within the profession.

Two experts who have supported athletes’ futures on the front lines of elite clinical environments, together with a scholar who offers a forward-looking vision for organizational transformation and professional leadership—these three leaders will gather in Japan.

Clinical practice. Organizational excellence. Education.
This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from three individuals who embody the evolution and essence of athletic training. By engaging with perspectives and practices cultivated on the international stage, participants will gain insights that expand the current landscape and future possibilities of athletic training in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.

Marking JATO’s first joint symposium with APATS, this event will facilitate cross-border intellectual exchange between Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. Participants will gain deeper insight into the latest international topics from Japan, the Asia-Pacific region, and beyond—transforming learning from mere “knowledge” into meaningful “action.”

Continuing from last year’s format, the two-day program will be divided into on-demand pre-lectures and one day of onsite participation, making it more accessible for those who previously found it difficult to attend two full days in person.

Let us grasp the changes unfolding in Japan, across the Asia-Pacific region, and around the world, and take the next step together toward advancing sports medicine.
